Dying silk

I rather stupidly put 70 quid's worth of silk skirt through the washing machine. It is, to say the least, a shadow of it's previous silky black self. I mean, the dye hasn't washed out completely or anything, but it now has a grey sheen to it that it didn't have before but which makes it look old. I know silk is tricksy stuff. Any tips on restoring it to its former glory?

Re: Dying silk
There is a way, but it costs £70 and a bus fare.
Re: Dying silk
I have bought a silk suit for my sister's wedding, any tips would be useful. I love the fabric, but it is not very sustainable, well not the flimsy silk.
I was hoping to have a chat with you yesterday at the blogging conference, I am a friend of Geoff Jones from Cambridge. I liked your presentation style, you are so confident. Geoff and I met at Toastmasters to improve our public speaking, you can read about it on my blog. Hope to meet up with you another day. Re: Re: Dying silk

I'm sorry to have missed you. I had been intending to hang around, but a deadline crept up and bit me whilst I wasn't looking, and I had to leave at lunchtime so that I could get things done on time. Please do feel free to email if you'd like a slightly less public chat!
