So now the nights are drawing out again. Yay! The ascent into Spring may be slow, but at least now it has started.

Did you know that sunset and sunrise don't advance and recede in synchrony? They are out-of-phase by about a month. The details depend on your latitude, but here in Boston the earliest sunset is around December 6, and the latest sunrise about January 6. So sunset has already been getting later, for about two weeks now. Isn't that just thrilling? (Sorry. I hate winter, and I grasp at straws.)
