Just discovered another two reasons to watch Shaun of the Dead - the triva subtitles track and the storyboard comparison track! Wahey!
*cough*
Don't worry, they're coming to take me away very soon.

Was going to track doen this DVD after how you've raved over it, only to see as I drove past the cinema that it isn't even coming out in theatre here (Toronto) until next month!
Guess I'll have to wait. Re: Wahey!

I saw the ads for Shaun of the Dead the last time I was home in the UK, and I thought at the time, 'I really want to see that.' Then I came back to China before the release date, and whilst Hollywood blockbusters are out on DVD here within days of their movie premiere, British movies aren't.
I'm nagging my friend to download it from somewhere so I can watch it. Suw, is this a good or bad thing in your theory of copyright and stuff? If downloading mp3s doesn't harm the music industry, then is it ok for us to watch downloaded films? Or do I have to wait until the next time I go home? www.lifeinjiangxi.blog-city.com Re: Re: Wahey!

Well, personally I have nothing against downloading at all. In this case, the film is so good that the chances are you'll want to own the DVD anyway, if only for the extras. I am fairly sure that most movie industry types will disagree, but one has to view it in context.
In your case, you want to download it because you can't get hold of it any other way. So that's not a lost sale for the SotD guys. If you dodn't download it, there's a strong chance that eventually you'll forget and never see it. If you do download it, maybe you'll fall so much in love with it that you'll want to buy the DVD and the CD and will start raving about it to your friends who will then want to buy the DVD and CD... It could go either way, but me, well, I think that more distribution is better than less. More people seeing the movie is better than fewer. |
