![]() I've now permanently moved my blog over to http://chocolateandvodka.com/ and will no long be updating this version, other than with the occasional summary of new posts. The scary part is that if you do try singing A Day In The Life yn Gymraeg, it kinda works.
When I was a kid, I overheard this girl I fancied singing Wham's Freedom in Welsh. Well, except for the word Freedom. Something like "Roedd ddim eisiau freedom... roedd ddim eisiau chaware rownd" Re: Re: Y Beatles

Not only that, but "Day Tripper" seems to work as well. I've been looking for a cover to record.. and perhaps this might be the one.
As a matter of interest, how does "A Hard Day's Night" translate? It's not possible to translate exactly in German. (I used to be able to speak a little welsh, but I've lost it with learning German.) Aside : Got a shock the other day when the german version of "She Loves You" popped up on autoplay (Sie liebt dich) and I realised I could understand it. All of it. And it's a crap translation. I'm not even sure what 'A Hard Day's Night' means in English, let along how to translate it in Welsh. Possibly 'Noson Ddydd Anodd', literally 'night of a difficult day'.

I do remember seeing, just a couple of weeks ago, on er.. Uned 5 I think, a sketch which consisted of a joscyn type sitting on his tractor going on about the hard day he'd had. It took both me and Catrin (my native-speaking fiancee) a few minutes to realise that was he was doing was reciting "A Hard Day's Night" in Welsh.
Like drains, we did. Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: Y Beatles

'Joscyn'! Wow, haven't heard that in a long time... "Hambon' was better, I think... What other similar expressions are there?
