I agree that my recommendation of the book to others will help to reward Lessig's work and I agree with most of his arguments but when he says "In Free Culture I describe why it made sense for Cory Doctorow to release his book free online," I see this as only a temporary solution. In the long term we need to find Lessig's 'middle' ground where digital content is not given away free, in the hope that pay will turn up via another route, but where digital content competes with free and earns a proper reward for its author. Common Rights has a proposal that moves in this direction.
