I've now permanently moved my blog over to http://chocolateandvodka.com/ and will no long be updating this version, other than with the occasional summary of new posts. Please do not leave comments here, but instead find the equivalent post on my new site, and comment there instead. Comments left here will not be published, as I'd like to keep things all together on the new installation. Sorry if this is an inconvenience.
Re: The red line of death
by Anonymous
I have a new 20" Cinema Display that had (and occasionally still has) the Red Line of Death, though not the Green Line of Annoyance. At first, the RLD was almost always there, but now it only rarely raises its ugly head. I asked around some forums, but no one knew why this happens. Some speculated the video card, some the display, some that the monitor cable was too close to the power brick. Who knows? I'm glad it's not there most of the time now, but if anyone has a technical explanation for RLD, I'd love to hear it!
