First heard about Hot Fuzz here on this blog, put it to the back of my mind expecting to see it quite a long way in the future - and now here it is, almost upon us. I haven't been so childishly excited about a film for years. Rather pathetically I printed out some copies of the posters a couple of weeks ago and put them up in my office. Having lived in a shared North London house for years, the experience of which was recorded with uncanny accuracy (kinda) in Spaced and Shaun Of The Dead; and now - as a sophisticated Londoner who inexplicably finds himself policing in a sleepy west-country town (kinda) I almost feel I'm due some royalties ;-) Unfortunately though, whilst walking out of the cinema at the weekend having seen Flushed Away, my two-year-old ran up to a big Hot Fuzz poster and pointed at Nick Frost, shouting "Daddy!!!". I don't think she means I share his comic timing. I will be going to see it next week with some friends from work. I'm going to have to resist the urge to wear uniform. Otherwise I might end up signing autographs as Nick Frost.
