![]() I've now permanently moved my blog over to http://chocolateandvodka.com/ and will no long be updating this version, other than with the occasional summary of new posts. Please do not leave comments here, but instead find the equivalent post on my new site, and comment there instead. Comments left here will not be published, as I'd like to keep things all together on the new installation. Sorry if this is an inconvenience. |

Yeah, Emlyn's dead right - couldn't agree more. NE Wales is gorgeous - my friend Debs lived in Trefor for a while, see on one side, mountains on the other, just lovely place. She's now moved inland a bit, I think, but I've not been up to see her which is just poor behaviour on my part.
Caernarfon and Bangor are fine as towns, but the joy in NE Wales is the countryside. You don't want to live in Blaenau Ffestiniog though. ;-) Whatever the Anweledig boys say isn't true. (For the uninitiated, the have a song that says that the weather's always nice in Blaenau, but in fact the place has amongst the highest rainfall in the UK. It's on the east of the mountains, you see, so more rain.)
The area around Ruthin is lovely too, though, but stay away from Rhyl and the actual north coast.
I love the fact that so many people speak Welsh up there though, in the NE. I love being able to go into a shop and chances are that the person I speak to will speak back to me in Welsh. That's just me though.
