A very cunning banner in the audience: "Pink Floyd Reunited: Pigs Have Flown".

And to see Roger Waters on stage with them again - wow - and all four of them with their arms around each other's shoulders at the end (Gilmour visibly hesitating)... I never thought I'd see that in in my lifetime. And they played as well as they ever did. Wonderful.

And whose bright idea was it to broadcast Snoop Dogg live during family primetime TV? Hilarious. I bet the complaints department got plenty of irate parents "making some motherfucking noise!"

And was it me or did Joss Stone's backing singers look a bit grumpy as if thinking, "Hmph, look at that elfin blonde little white girl strutting around pretending to be Aretha Franklin! Pah!"?

And all "grandad, dinosaurs-of-rock" joking aside - didn't The Who fuckin' rock?

Paul McCartney still sucks arse, though, and ever it shall be thus.

The 'Oo (Or should that be the Two?) did indeed rock mightily.

As for Macca, I don't think he can win. If he doesn't do the Beatles stuff, people moan. If he does do the Beatles stuff, people moan.

Didn't see the whole show, so fortunately I was spared Snoop Dogg and Madonna. Had to sit through Mariah Carey's set which was painful, but worth it to see The Who and Pink Floyd show everyone how it's done. The Who did indeed fuckin' rock - if anything better than they did 20 years ago. So did Pink Floyd, despite looking like a small group of geography teachers.

As for Paul McCartney, well, as a Beatles fan I hate to say this but Nichevo is right. Despite playing Helter Skelter Macca pretty much did suck arse.

Good stuff, and a great example of what we're capable of when we get our fingers out and work together. Here's hoping G8 get their fingers out and work together too.

I like the Beatles' stuff too, don't get me wrong, but Macca gets on my tits - the way he keeps his career alive by relying on work he collaborated with 3 other people to create who are coveniently forgotten when Sir Paul goes on stage. Ugh... just leaves a bad taste in my mouth.

Seeing Roger Waters gurning with his rock face was a bit absurd (and he still can't sing for toffee - ha ha!) but the Floyd were magnificant. It really did seem that the much mocked and derided old guards of rock can still show the younger upstarts how it's really done.
